About Andrea
Andrea Liddle lived a fortunate and happy
life growing up in Omaha Nebraska. Her big, crazy-wonderful family was
spread throughout the United States making traveling a normal part of life. In
2000 after one year of general studies at the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln she moved to Pennsylvania in search of new
possibilities and family time. In 2002 she embarked upon a journey backpacking
through Europe for nearly 4 months; this experience forever changed her
perspective on life. She learned about Reiki in Hamburg Germany from a
beautiful new Irish friend, researched massage therapy schools on
rainy days in the Czech Republic, and experienced a deep connection to
the earth in the Highlands of Scotland. The simplicity of life was
refreshing.
Later that year she found her way back home to Omaha
and attended the
Universal College of Healing Arts. Andrea found her
niche and focused as a full-time massage therapy student. Classes and
clinic work over a year brought a well-rounded and thorough 1000 hours
of education. She worked with a midwife at a local hospital providing
prenatal massage for at risk mothers. She learned the power of
touch through Swedish massage, Myofascial Release, and Deep Tissue.
Her education was spectacular and inspiring; she also explored bits of
Chinese Medicine, Yoga, and Ayurveda.
The Sagittarian moved to sunny San Diego in August
of 2003, one week after finishing school. She established herself as a
Nationally Certified Massage Therapist and licensed Holistic Health
Practitioner upon arrival. Yoga was a must and she was fortunate that a
short bike ride brought her to the door of
Ginseng Yoga and Bodywork.
Experiencing yoga at Ginseng was instrumental in her life. In addition, she
found work at the studio as an on-call massage therapist.
Beauty
Kliniek Day Spa and Wellness Center was her full-time job where she
continued to learn massage modalities and treatments. She was trained
in body scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy treatments. Additionally, she accumulated
certifications in La Stone Massage, Reiki I, and acquired 50 hours of study in
Aromatherapy. She discovered a great deal on who she was as a professional massage
therapist over the two years working in the spa industry.
In 2005 she began her own business, Embody
Therapeutic Bodywork, making her first move to start providing the type
of environment and service she dreamed possible for her and her
clientele. For Andrea, education is an integral part of life,
and that year she began training to become a yoga instructor.
Committing a year to study and practice yoga full-time at Synergy Yoga
Center in Encinitas, she had a great opportunity for self-reflection,
personal growth, and transformation. The intense training inspired her
to embrace the vastness of yoga and the liberation of trusting your own
inner wisdom. Andrea is nationally registered through the Yoga Alliance
and continues studying.
In 2006 Andrea attended a Doula certification
training in LA through the
Doulas of North America. For the following
year she assisted in four births and completed the requirements for
National Certification. This education, both in study and real life
experience, boosted her ability to serve the community
with greater patience and compassion. This training also brings a great richness
to her prenatal yoga and prenatal massage.
Andrea continues to flourish as a Holistic Health
Practitioner. She became a Reiki Master in 2008 and attended training at
International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) for Cranio-Sacral
Therapy in 2009. Andrea has instructed yoga in corporate offices, Ginseng Yoga Studio in South Park,
the Marriott Spa and Bamboo Yoga Studio in Coronado, Prana Yoga in La
Jolla, Radiance Yoga in Mission Hills, Yen 4 Zen Yoga Studio in
Kensington, Alliant International University, and private sessions in
living rooms and parks. As a massage therapist, she has worked at Active
Balance Chiropractic Center, Knightly Chiropractic, Bamboo Yoga Studio,
Ginseng Yoga and Bodywork, and chair massages at Alliant International
University and multiple corporate offices. She has become close with seven new
families serving as their Doula. Currently she is a part-time student at City
College in the Peace Studies Associates Degree Program. She is
broadening her scope on creating a more peaceful planet and exploring
what peace really means in our world.
